A lecturer in Revenue and Financial Management at ICHM, Amir Gholami holds a Masters of Professional Accounting and is part-way through a Doctor of Business Administration with the University of Southern Queensland. His thesis: ‘Revenue Management, Big Data and Information Systems in the Hospitality Industry’.
Amir was previously Financial Controller for the Greenland International Hotels Group (Primus Sydney), responsible for the multiplicity of financial management tasks for the pre-opening and operational phases of two hotels.
Before that he was Assistant Financial Controller at the Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas (2014–2015),leading a financial team to manage income streams and the purchasing department.
Other financial roles include as Senior Accountant, Financial Manager and Auditor. From 2007 to 2013 he was a university lecturer in Accounting and Auditing in Tehran, Iran. He has published two essays in an internationally accredited journal and written two books on financial and cost analysis.
Amir is preparing ICHM’s next generation of revenue managers for the rapidly evolving role of revenue management, using the latest technology platform— IDeaS Revenue Solutions. It provides students with valuable hands-on exposure to industry leading pricing, forecasting and revenue management solutions.
‘Experience with analytics, automation and technology is a core requirement for aspiring hoteliers enabling them to accelerate their careers in industry’, says Amir.
At ICHM for close to a year, Amir says it is a great place to be, with its multicultural mindset and bunch of ethical and progressive people. Amir has lived in Australia for the past five years.
