Industry and Career Development Manager
Lauren Frater says that whatever the job she has always thought strategically about, ‘where to next’.
‘I knew for some time that I wanted to be in a hospitality school I and regard ICHM as the best.
‘There is a clear distinction between students from ICHM and those from other colleges. ICHM students appreciate the necessity of working from the bottom up and they’re not afraid of hard work’, she says.
Lauren joins ICHM from AccorHotels Voyages Ayers Rock Resort in the heart of Australia’s outback, where she has held various roles since 2011—most recently, as People & Culture Senior Business Partner. Before that she was in conference and events management and talent resourcing.
She has already placed four students at Ayers Rock Resort and says she looks forward to connecting more broadly across industry and, in turn, industry with students.
She has worked in Sydney; Kalgoorlie, Western Australia; and London. She also served as a volunteer with Projects Abroad, spending time in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

She had previously held various roles with BT Financial Group, the wealth management arm of Westpac Banking Corporation.
A Certified Professional of the Australian Human Resources Institute, Debra joins the Administration team under the management of Roger Stevens.
She says that once she has mastered ICHM’s specific systems and processes she looks forward to making a positive contribution.
