In his opening remarks Master of Ceremonies Derek Milligan pointed out that Principal Dr Ian Whyte introduced Course Commencement in 1993, and it has subsequently become a popular fixture in ICHM’s calendar.
‘On entering its 24th year, ICHM has educated 2500 young people from 92 countries in the hotel management profession, reflecting contemporary practice and worldwide trends’, said Derek Milligan.
Chief Executive Mr Gerald Lipman welcomed Professor Simon Maddocks, Vice-Chancellor of Charles Darwin University (CDU) to the stage, who went on to welcome ICHM into the CDU family.
‘We are young, vibrant and have a clear direction on where we take our students. We have the best employment outcomes of any university in Australia and our graduates generally start on a higher level of pay.
