Cornerstone College old scholar Isabella Palmer has been awarded a scholarship worth $22,500 to ICHM.
She is following in the footsteps of her brother Alex, who has returned to campus to complete his final year after his second industry placement in Melbourne last year.
Isabella was at ICHM for Career Week in September last year, which gave her a taste of what ICHM has to offer.
‘I had already set my heart on ICHM, and the scholarship of $7500 for each year of the three-year program helped seal the decision.
‘As well as the hands-on approach throughout the course, the opportunity to use the skills learnt in first semester during the six months of paid industry placement each year appeals to my style of learning and lifestyle’, she says.
Isabella says she is also incredibly inspired by the international opportunities and vast range of careers of ICHM graduates.
‘My current interest is in event management, however, this may change after I have been exposed to different roles within hospitality. Whatever path I choose, I intend seizing every opportunity I am given’, she says.
Isabella will head from her home in Mount Torrens to ICHM in January to begin the three-year Bachelor of Business (Hospitality Management). With her undergraduate degree completed, she will be granted direct entry into the Master of International Hotel Management (Swiss Hotel Association).
Isabella’s is one of four scholarships ICHM awarded to Australian students in 2020 - two others went to South Australians and the other to a Queenslander. The winners scored highly in a written assignment and panel interview.
