The ICHM Bachelor Degree year provides students with the advantage of a university level bachelor degree for those seeking the best positions in a competitive global market. The subjects deliver the additional skills and knowledge for successful professional management careers in hotel, hospitality, tourism and related fields. Entry into the degree is subject to successful completion of the SHA Diploma, completion of 1400 hours of approved industry experience and fluency in a second language. International students may be also required to provide evidence of English fluency (IELTS 6.0 with not band below 5.5). Students who hold a qualification up to an Advanced Diploma level may also be considered for entry subject to approval and as long as they meet the other criteria (e.g. language, experience).
Note: Not every elective will be offered each semester. Course counsellors will assist with subject/elective selection. Students should also check elective prerequisites when choosing electives, this is particularly important for students who have completed studies at other schools, fast tracking to the ICHM Degree.

Seven subjects are taken in first semester and a ‘Workbased Project’ is taken in the second semester while working full-time. Spreading the course over more than one semester reduces the study load and ensures wider selection of electives. Many students with advanced standing for previous studies should undertake the course over two semesters to adjust to the standards required at ICHM and living in a new city. This option also permits students to work up to 20 hours per week.
Students undertaking the ICHM Bachelor degree on-line otherwise known as distance education, complete the course using email, discussion boards, assignments, prescribed texts and chat sessions. Students can - complete four subjects in each of two consecutive semesters (minimum) or take eight subjects over five years (maximum). The later option provides students with the advantage of maintaining their work and residence while obtaining an internationally recognised qualification. International students should note that, under Australian Government student visa rules on-line studies in Australia is restricted, an exception to this is the Workbased Project.
