Student Counselling

Toni SchammerAs the Student Welfare Manager, Toni’s main role is to ensure that students are given the help they need in addressing any issue that has the potential to impact on their study. “I am usually the student’s first point of contact, I work with them to examine ways to best manage their particular situation, whether it be teaching or learning related, a cultural or personal matter, or accommodation difficulties. The aim of this collaborative approach is for students to develop the skills to deal with issues themselves.”

Toni also assists with student induction and deals with a number of administrative matters such as medical insurance, complex visa issues, tax file numbers and more. She also maintains links with The Student Services Unit, The Health Centre within Regency Institute and broader community resources to which she can refer to if required.
