“Even though it’s obvious that studying is extremely important, ICHM recognises the fact that everyone needs to take a break now and then. That’s why it is really good we have Deb, our Recreation Officer. Deb is there to look after everything from using the gym, arranging karaoke nights to go-karting. So we always have something to do, even if it is just socialising with our friends around the accommodation complex.” |
Activities officer
Debbie organises a variety of sport, recreation, leisure and sightseeing options for students on weekends and semester breaks. On-campus sports include tennis, basketball, gym, table tennis, pool, yoga, aerobics and volleyball.
“Debbie is fun, she organises all sorts of events for us… even though we have to study hard.”
Off-campus activities include golf, cricket, indoor rock climbing, bush walking, sailing, fishing, horse-riding, ice-skating, ten-pin bowling, scuba diving, swimming, paintball skirmishes and more.
Barbecues, shopping trips, cinema, karaoke nights, aquatic centre, food and wine festivals, beaches and parties are also popular. Staff-student sports matches are also a highlight.
“The evening is an excellent opportunity to interact with your friends - on the weekends I usually play tennis or golf, visit the city with friends. I have participated in the organised activities and they are heaps of fun, especially the go-karts.”
