Quality Assurance

Australia’s education and training system is subject to ongoing checks and controls by the Government to maintain and improve its high standards. Institutions must be registered with the Australian Federal and State Governments and meet a high standard of quality and ethical practices to enable them to deliver courses. All courses offered of three months or more by ICHM Pty Ltd, trading as International College of Hotel Management are registered with the appropriate State and Federal Australian Governments. Visit the Going to Uni website for details www.goingtouni.gov.au. The SHA Diploma is awarded by the Swiss Hotel Association subject to their requirements.

ICHM operates in close collaboration with the South Australian Government, through TAFE SA. ICHM is the provider under the ESOS Act, and lecturing staff, facilities, materials, and on campus accommodation are provided by TAFE SA Adelaide North Institute, Regency Campus.

Bachelor of International Hotel Management (Swiss Hotel Association) / Bachelor of Business (Hospitality Management)

Both the BIHM (SHA) and the B.Bus. (Hospitality Management) are registered by the Australian Government Australian Qualifications Framework as a Bachelor Degree, equal in standing to a Bachelors Degree issued by any Australian University. The two degrees are accredited by the South Australian Training and Skills Commission. The Commission is the only legal body conferred authority under the South Australian Training and Skills Development Act (2008) permitted to accredit Degree programs to private Registered Training Organisations outside the University sector.

Accreditation by the Commission is equivalent to Regional Accreditation in the United States and self-accrediting status of Royal Chartered Universities enacted by an Act of Parliament (UK).

While any quality university should accept these degrees as prerequisites into Masters programs, ICHM has articulation arrangements in place for selected universities in Australia and UK. Discussions are underway for selected US universities.

The degrees are also listed on the National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition register, which means it meets the Generally Accepted Accrediting Principles as espoused by Dr John Bear (leading US researcher in non-traditional higher education) and PIER in the United States.
